The structure comes first
Structure, weather-tightness and finish are considered together. Rafters, battens and roof underlay are assessed before the new roof covering is closed in.
Roof renovation · Slagelse and Zealand
We renovate the entire roof — from the supporting structure and roof underlay to insulation, flashings and the finished roof covering.
Structure, weather-tightness and finish are considered together. Rafters, battens and roof underlay are assessed before the new roof covering is closed in.
You know the solution, materials and reservations. The ridge, eaves, chimneys and flashings are treated as critical details.
You know who is responsible throughout the project. Older roof sheets are examined, and any removal is planned in advance.
A proper handover. Materials, visible finishes and relevant reservations are reviewed with you.
More than new roof tiles
A roof renovation begins with understanding the existing house. The age of the roof tells us something, but not everything. Damp, ventilation, insulation and the structure must be assessed as a whole.
That is why we do not start by selling you a particular type of roof. We start by finding out what the house actually needs — and whether a complete replacement is the right solution at all.
The entire structure
Rafters, battens and timberwork are assessed before they are enclosed.
The details must direct moisture out and keep water away.
We clarify the options based on the way the house is constructed.
Chimneys, dormers, windows, the ridge and the eaves require precision.
The material is selected to suit the house, its appearance and the maintenance requirements.
Repair or a new roof?
Discolouration, damp or water ingress may come from the roof covering, joints or damaged roof underlay.
When many tiles or sheets have deteriorated, ongoing replacements can become an expensive short-term solution.
Problems at the ridge, eaves, chimneys or flashings may indicate that several parts of the roof have reached the end of their service life.
The cause must be found before the roof is closed up again. Otherwise, the problem is simply hidden.
When the faults keep appearing in different places, it is time to compare several patching solutions with a complete renovation.
We will tell you if a repair is sufficient. And if a complete renovation is the most durable solution, we will explain why.
Roofing work in practice
A roof is viewed from a distance, but it is made weather-tight in the detail. The joints, finishes and sequence of the work determine the quality.
Uniform lines and secure overlaps are a visible result of the technical work.
The ridge, eaves and flashings take time. That is not where we rush.
Older roof sheets
On older roofs, roof sheets or other building materials may contain asbestos. This must not come as a surprise in the middle of the project.
Tømrerfirmaet Kenn is authorised to carry out asbestos removal. We can therefore plan the assessment, removal and subsequent roof construction together as one coherent plan.

Roof renovations often involve hidden conditions. A clear process makes them easier to manage without loose assumptions or unclear additional charges.
We inspect the roof covering, access, structure and visible signs of damage.
You receive a clear scope of work, choice of materials and the reservations that are actually relevant.
Scaffolding, safety, deliveries and the sequence of work are coordinated before we open up the roof.
We keep you informed and assess hidden conditions before the work continues.
We review the work and the important details with you.
01You should understand what you are buying and why the solution suits your particular house.
02Hidden conditions are part of renovation work. They must be described and dealt with — not glossed over to make a sale.
03Materials, maintenance and details are chosen with many years of Danish weather in mind.
